Susan Smolinske, PharmD, to Discuss Poison Center Databases for Research on May 4th

On Thursday, May 4th, Susan Smolinske, PharmD, DABAT, will discuss three poison center databases that can be mined for research purposes. Dr. Smolinske is the director of the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center and a professor of pharmacy practice and administrative sciences in the UNM College of Pharmacy.

She will discuss the differences among the RADARS, Toxics and NPDS databases, describe the limitations of poison center data and explain how to request poison data for research.

The talk will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in room 228 of the library. It is part of the library’s Biomedical Informatics Seminar Series (BioMISS) program. Everyone is invited to attend.
