UNM Libraries Seek Feeback About Scopus Abstract and Citation Database an an Alternative to the Web of Science

September 14, 2017

Through October 15th, HSLIC and UNM University Libraries are offering a trial of the Scopus database as an alternative to the Web of Science database.

Scopus, offered by Elsevier R&D Solutions, is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. You can use it to find answers to questions outside your core subject area, gain competitive insights and identify experts in a specific field.

This transition has the potential for significant cost savings. Moving from Web of Science to Scopus, a similar tool, may allow the libraries to minimize the cuts they will have to make to the purchase of books, journals and databases.

Because we realize how important the Web of Science is to researchers, we are not taking the potential switch lightly. Your feedback will help us decide which database more researchers prefer. We encourage you to review the
Scopus trialand the Web of Science and then complete our survey to let us know your thoughts. Or you can send your feedback to librarytrial@unm.edu.
