HSLIC Service

HSLIC Service

Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery

Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) allows users to obtain research materials not available at HSLIC by requesting them from other libraries. These resources include, but are not limited to, journal articles, books and conference proceedings.

This service also provides delivery of HSLIC-owned books or scanned articles to other U.S. libraries.

Document Delivery provides delivery of scanned articles from HSLIC's collections.

What We Do

This service allows you to obtain articles and books that are not available in our collection and to request articles from HSLIC's collection.

We generally receive journal articles within two days of the initial request and send them to you electronically.

Generally, you will receive a book loan within one week of your initial request. Most loan periods are between two and four weeks. Depending on the lending library, you may renew some books.

Why Do I Want It?

Interlibrary Loan provides our customers with access to materials not owned by HSLIC. Document Delivery provides delivery of articles from HSLIC's collections.

Who Is This For?

Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery are free to UNM HSC students, residents, fellows, faculty and staff. New Mexico health care providers, government agencies and members of the public may use these services for a fee. Members of the public may request copies of journal articles but may not request books.

Non-HSC faculty, staff and students must request materials through the UNM University Libraries Interlibrary Loan Department (https://illiad.unm.edu/illiad/ill/logon.html).

Students enrolled in other academic institutions should contact their home institution's library.

How Do I Get It?

Most requestors prefer electronic delivery of PDF versions of journal articles. However, you can retrieve books and printed copies of articles at the HSLIC Service Point. You also can pick up books and printed copies of articles at the HSLIC Service Point.

You may request document delivery or Interlibrary Loan materials using an online form provided at https://unmhscl.hosts.atlas-sys.com/illiad/HSLIC/Logon.html.
