Course Reserves

HSLIC's print resources, media and e-reserves make heavily used course-related materials available for students to use. 

Why Do I Want It?

We loan out heavily used materials for limited periods to maximize student access. Print/media materials are listed in the HSLIC library catalog and are available for checkout at the Service Point. HSC students may borrow print/media items for a limited amount of time, usually three hours.

Who Is This For?

HSC instructors can request that we place materials (their personal copies as well as HSLIC-owned materials) on reserve.

Also, HSC student organizations can place shared project materials on reserve. 

How Do I Get It?

Print/media items: Instructors will notify HSLIC of materials they want to place on reserve for specific courses. At the end of the course, we will notify the instructor of usage data.

To place materials on reserve, fill out a reserve request form at the Service Point or online at http://hslic.unm.edu/resources/reserves.html. Print/media items will be placed on reserve within three business days of receipt.

e-reserves (Docutek): Instructors access e-reserves directly, download course materials and notify enrollees of the password needed to access course materials. The HSLIC Service Point can provide assistance with e-reserves. 

What Do I Need?

Checkout of print/media items requires a LoboCard or an HSC badge.


Service Hours

You can drop off a reserve request form and check out print/media materials any time the library is open. Docutek e-reserves are available 24/7.
