Library Resources

HSLIC provides a current and comprehensive collection of monographs, e-books, journals, audiovisual materials, bibliographic databases and other electronic resources to serve the information needs of UNM HSC students, faculty and staff.

What We Do

We select, purchase, license and make available library resources for the purpose of health-sciences-related learning and research. We accept requests for materials to be added to a collection. To make a request, please use the Request a Purchase form.  We also accept donations to the collection (please see Give to the Library for more information).

Who Is This For?

HSLIC library resources are primarily for UNM Health Sciences Center students, faculty and staff. As the only medical library for the state, HSLIC also serves as a resource library for the citizens of New Mexico. (See the Distance Services web page for more information.)

How Do I Get It?

All resources, both print and electronic, are available on-site. UNM students, faculty and staff can access electronic resources by way of HSLIC's Public Computing or remotely from any laptop or desktop computer.  Many electronic resources have a version formatted for mobile devices, accessible through the mobile website by clicking on the mobile icon on the HSLIC list of databases.

To find and access library resources, you can use the library catalog or eJournal finder or you can choose from the list of databases found on the HSLIC library web pageReference services are also available.

What Do I Need?

Access to on-site resources is open to the citizens of New Mexico.

To access electronic resources remotely, you need an active UNM or HSC Net ID. For borrowing privileges, you need a valid UNM LoboCard or HSC badge, HSLIC issued borrower's card or NMCAL/AISTI Passport.

How Much Does It Cost?

There is no cost to UNM students, faculty and staff for this service.

On-site resources are available to citizens of New Mexico free of charge. Fees may apply for non-UNM users for borrowing privileges and interlibrary loan and document delivery.


Service Hours

Electronic resources are available via the web 24/7. Print and on-site resources are available when the library is open.
