Accounts

Accounts are referred to as NetIDs or “Network IDs.” They allow users to access particular resources on campus. Users will normally be issued two NetIDs: one for the Health Sciences Center resources (HSC NetID) and a second to access UNM main-campus resources (UNM NetID). HSC account management staff will help you create both.

▼ Request an HSC NetID

To request your NetIDs, you will need to fill out and submit an online account request form. The form must be completely filled out, and contact information must be provided or the account will not be provisioned. To begin the account request process, please go to the Account Request Form.   Your HSC NetID and UNM NetID (main campus) accounts will be created when you have a valid Banner ID in the UNM system.

▼ HSCLink Email Accounts

HSC IT is in the process of rebuilding its services to create new HSC NetIDs and HSCLink email accounts. For the next few months, new email addresses in HSCLink will be created and active in the system the Monday, Wednesday, or Friday following the date when the user's HSC NetID is created. Because of this delay, please submit requests for new HSC NetIDs as soon as your department receives a Banner ID for the new employee. HSC IT is currently working with UNMH and UNM IT to create a new automated system that will significantly reduce the amount of time it takes for new employees to obtain their HSC NetIDs and email addresses. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Password Reset Code via Text Message (Must be Registered)

If you have registered you cellular carrier and number with us or through Help.HSC you may request a text message for a code and to reset your password here by selecting Reset my Password. If you have not registerd your information with us and would like to have it registered, please contact the Service Point at 272-1694. Your cellular information will remain private and will not be used to contact you or be shared with anyone.

 

Password Changes for Known Passwords or Challenge Questions

If you know your current password and need to have it changed or if you have setup challenge and response questions to reset your password you can use one of the following methods to change your password.

  • On the HSC Campus (Change Known Password or Challenge and Response)

    To change your password or access your challenge questions from any system on the HSC wired or "HSC_Secure" wireless network. Click here.

  • Off of the HSC Campus (Must Know Current Password)

    If you are off campus or accessing the "HSC_Guest" wireless network, please connect to the Citrix Receiver at https://receiver.health.unm.edu and logon using your HSC credentials. In the Applications section open an internet explorer session like the SharePoint Help Central or the UNMMG Intranet to load the browser. Then you can use that browser to go to the password reset site at https://hscpw.health.unm.edu.

▼ Name Change

Individuals must submit a name change request to the correct office (Records & Registration for students; Human Resources for staff; Faculty Contracts for faculty). Then you can create a Help.HSC request to have your name changed.

▼ Account Validation

If you are not certain that your HSC password works, please use the Account Validation Utility. This utility will work only from within the HSC network.  Enter your HSC NetID and password. When you submit, it will return the status of your password.
